Hey there! It’s been a week since my last walk and reflection, and I’ve realized I haven’t written down those thoughts yet. But here I am, pondering the idea of pressing a pause button in our busy lives. How does that work for everyone, anyway?
I think for many, a pause button looks like a long summer vacation—perhaps spent at the beach, in the bush, or by the river. But it’s hard to believe we only take a break for two or three weeks out of the year! So, how do we truly embrace pauses during the craziness of life?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Do you feel guilty taking a break? Do you actually rest, or do you push through the physical, emotional, and mental demands? These questions swirl around in my mind. For me, a pause means literally stopping—standing still for a moment. Whether I’m in nature, at home with my journal, or just spending time with my kids, I find that simply wasting time can be rejuvenating.
I admit, I’m not great at it, but I know I become a better person when I allow myself to press pause—ideally on a daily basis, but at least once a week. You know what? Monday morning walks have become almost habitual for me, and honestly, they’re necessary for my sanity! There’s something about stepping outside and breathing in that fresh air that clears my mind and refreshes my spirit.
So, how about you? How do you find time to pause in your life? Whether it’s a quick break during a hectic day or a longer getaway, let’s explore how we can incorporate those moments of stillness into our routines. After all, it’s in those pauses that we often find clarity and peace amidst the chaos.
Here’s to embracing the art of pressing pause and making space for ourselves!
